Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra Military Wives Choir Cardiff Ardwyn Singers Cardiff Polyphonic Choir Conductor: Owain Arwel Hughes CBE The Bringer of War; The Bringer of Peace. In a concert of two parts, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic orchestra commemorate the centenary of the Battle of the Somme with the world premiere of Paul Mealor's The Shadows of War, together with music by Vaughan Williams, Karl Jenkins and the Military Wives Choirs, plus a grand scale performance of Holst's epic Planets Suite, marking 100 years since the composition's completion in 1916.
